Diamond in the Rough
As we seek to know God intimately, we often reflect on His attributes and the many names by which He reveals Himself: Jehovah Jireh – the Lord our Provider; Jehovah Rophe – the Lord our Healer. We also consider the ways in which the Bible describes the infinite characteristics of Jesus: the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Bright and Morning Star. Meditating on the magnitude and grandeur behind the names of God manifests a sense of His greatness. As we ponder the meaning and truth behind the names and descriptions of God, we are held in awe of who He knows Himself to be. But the question I ask of you is this:
This book is the result of years of personal prayer during some of my most trying times in marriage, ministry, and raising young children. Often I would ask myself, “Who am I?” and “Honestly, what am I doing on this planet!?“
Diamond in the Rough was born out of a desire to see who I was through God’s eyes, and to receive His answers according to scripture. It was during these years that I also began praying for women all over the world to awaken to the truth of His Word concerning their extreme value. As the world continues to grow increasingly darker and as uncertainties in all aspects of life abound, we must comprehend who we are in the light of God’s everlasting truth.
It’s time we answer the call of Isaiah 60:1-2:
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.”
